The Next Iteration of Apteo’s Data Science Platform for Everyone

Shanif Dhanani

At Apteo, our mission is to create easy-to-use data science tools for anyone that wants to make more informed decisions. We started by providing a platform to help finance professionals discover and analyze data that’s relevant to the stocks they care about. We’re now excited to announce that we’re expanding the capabilities of our platform to make it easy for professionals from any industry to make the most of their data.

Over the past few months, we’ve spoken to many of our users to understand their biggest data hurdles and goals. We’ve seen that nearly every organization has access to interesting and relevant data, but very few have the resources to truly analyze that data and use it to make informed business decisions.

Understanding and analyzing data requires data scientists, specialized software, and data processing infrastructure. But the world is facing a shortage of data scientists, and implementing the right software and infrastructure can take significant time, money, and engineering resources. We’re designing our new platform to tackle these issues.

Today, we launched the beta of our new platform, which lets anyone connect and visualize data that lives in a CSV file, relational database (MySQL, Postgres, or Redshift), and in select APIs. In the coming weeks, we’ll add additional data connectors and analytics capabilities, focusing on ease of use, uncomplicated and intuitive workflows, and powerful insights that go beyond standard reporting dashboards.

You’ll have the ability to run an analysis to see how a key metric changed after a particular date or event. You’ll be able to see if the average value in one of your columns is significantly different from another. You’ll have the same correlation and forecasting tools that you already have access to on OneData, but now they’ll work on any dataset or metric. We’re also looking into creating tools for data scientists, like hosted Jupyter notebooks and fully trained and hosted models.

If you’re interested in keeping up with new updates, sign up for our newsletter at Or if you’d like to be a beta tester for our newest features or have a use case you’d like us to implement, let us know, we’d love to see if we can build around you. As we build out our new platform, you’ll continue to have access to OneData through the end of February. We’ll continue to keep you posted on our newsletter, social media accounts, and here on our blog as we make changes.

Thanks to all of you that have already signed up for OneData! We’re excited about the next iteration of our data science platform for everyone and we hope you’ll follow our progress along the way.
